Early Years and Racing Roots

Born on December 14, 1927, in Bridal Veil, Oregon, Hershel McGriff was destined for a life fueled by horsepower. His racing lineage ran deep—his father was a five-time British Rally Champion, and his middle brother also pursued rally car driving. McGriff’s journey began right after World War II, on September 16, 1945, when racing resumed in the United States. Little did he know that destiny would lead him to cross paths with NASCAR founder Bill France, Sr. during the 1950 Carrera Panamericana, where he emerged victorious.

Grand National Triumphs

In 1954, Hershel McGriff made his mark in the NASCAR Grand National Series (now known as the Cup Series). That year, he secured four wins, including a memorable victory at Bay Meadows Speedway. His aggressive driving style and consistent top-10 finishes propelled him to sixth place in the final points standings, outperforming even the points champion, Lee Petty.

McGriff had a pivotal decision to make for the 1955 season: a tempting offer to race for millionaire Carl Kiekhaefer’s newly formed team or returning home to the West Coast. He chose family and business over the allure of the East Coast tracks, allowing Tim Flock to drive Kiekhaefer’s Chrysler 300 to 18 victories and the season championship.

The Oldest Winner and Riverside Dominance

After a hiatus of around ten years, McGriff returned to racing. In 1967, at Riverside, he started from the 41st position and swiftly climbed to second place by the sixth lap. In a thrilling photo finish, he defeated Ron Grable. His victory in the AutoZone West Series in 1989, at the age of 61, made him the oldest driver to win a NASCAR feature race.

McGriff’s love affair with Riverside International Raceway yielded an astonishing 14 wins—the most at any NASCAR-sanctioned events. His connection to the track ran so deep that he was chosen as the grand marshal for its final race in 1988.

RETURN AND REFUND

We accept to customer return and refund in following reasons:

– Faulty Item Received:

If you receive a faulty item, just send us a picture of it toour email along with your order number. If the item deliver to you would be faulty or if withers off in the first wash, we’ll send you a free reshipment. You don’t have to send it back to us. All we’d need would be a picture of the faulty item.

– Not delivered on time

We totally understand that it’s highly frustrating not to receive the orders on time. You might have ordered it for a special occasion or you simply don’t like waiting. All of our product are custom-made-to-order and handcrafted to the highest quality standards. Please allow 6-8 days to receive a tracking number while your order is hand-crafted, packaged and shipped from our facility. Estimated shipping time is 2-4 weeks by the shipping companies to make your order reach you. Because we have several different warehouses, there are some products that are shipped differently at the same time. But, in some cases it might be delayed due to post office issues. Every post office can’t accommodate packages after a certain limit, hence the delays are caused.

We’d really appreciate if you wait for your order for a few more days. We’ll always be there to assist you let you know about it’s status. You’ll have the tracking details too to keep a check on the status.
